Cocoa Pesto Catering began when husband-and-wife team Scott Geddes and Marilyn MacKay decided to develop their shared enthusiasm for wining and dining into a small business. Cocoa and pesto are two of their favourite ingredients.
Scott and Marilyn have a large repertoire of recipes, some from family and friends and others are variations on the culturally diverse food they have been exposed to over the years. The couple likes to meet with their clients initially to establish an accurate sense of what they are seeking. They will discuss the type of occasion and trade ideas and suggestions to arrive at an appropriate and personalized plan. Cocoa Pesto is dedicated to enhancing the pleasure of any event.
Evolved from this shared passion … Cocoa Pesto restaurant in Windsor, Nova Scotia. Offering a unique dining experience, the Woodshire Inn offers a high-quality restaurant, B&B, an intimate venue for weddings as well as flexible meeting space.
Chef Scott Geddes
Scott Geddes spent his formative years in Windsor, Ontario. Certain to not return, with a strong desire to cook and explore the world of food, he never imagined Windsor, Nova Scotia as a destination to demonstrate his dedicated love of flavours and function. Having spent valuable time in Western Canada, Southern and Eastern Ontario and Quebec, meeting his future wife in Ottawa … Scott made his way to the Atlantic shores. For an avid sailor, keen gardener and his ardent affection for motorcycles … Nova Scotia was a natural fit.

Marilyn MacKay grew up on a dairy farm in rural Nova Scotia. Her travels and enthusiasm for fine food and drink took her to Quebec and Ontario for a number of educational and informative years. But, like many Maritimers, her inevitable return brought her back to the Atlantic Coast, with husband in tow.
“Scott and I grow food year round. We love our gardens, our community and what we have created here. Cocoa Pesto is an extension of our home and we want to share it with everyone!”
What we do
We started Cocoa Pesto because of our shared passion for feasting, entertaining and the fascinating curiosity of the chemistry of food. We strive to learn more about cooking, raising and growing food, understanding the libations that compliment meals and sharing that information with like minded individuals.
We are passionate because we love to eat and entertain and share the experience. We want people to feel like they are being welcomed into our home when they come to Cocoa Pesto.
We specialize in providing a multitude of atmospheres to our valued supporters … Whether it’s a proper occasion of celebration, a casual evening out, a romantic dinner for two, good friends getting together to watch the game … We pride ourselves in versatility and functionality with flare. We have hosted everything from weddings, corporate meetings and presentations, local recreational gatherings, weekly and monthly social group meetings, a back drop for the film and movie industry, a place to catch the score, an evening of music or just a quiet, relaxing spot for a quick bite and some enlightening conversation.
